Subject: TORIS art on d6holocron.com
Hello.
Some of the art that I did for the TORIS website has been placed on the d6holocron without permission, these images belong to me and were done exclusively for TORIS. the images are the following;

Talos Class Interceptor
Tu'nang Ro
Half-Twi'lek
Klik'tak'nek

I would respectfully ask you to remove these images, and any others by me, from d6holocron as soon as possible, and not to host any more of my work without my express permission.

I hope I haven't caused you any offence by this message, if I have I appologise for that. Thank you

Xain

Xain,

sorry bout the images. its pretty impossible to track all of the images used on the site. most i have been seeing are from other wiki sites but some slip thru. plus i did tend to get permissions from some of the larger sites like the rpggamer, org. usually the crew are also good little boys and girls to track the sources.
i can take the images down if you wish its not any problem at all, but if there are more than the four i would need to be told where the others are. its become a pretty big site and hard to look thru and find everything like this. but, since its a little difficult to track these files and keep them from coming back as someone else could just re post them i would like to reach out and simply request permission to post these 4 images on the site giving full credit to yourself as the artist. since i make no hesitation that this is an archive of original and official used information from all sorts of sources and im not the source of any of them (well there is some original, but i dont point it out much so that i give credit to others).
if the images are shared on the site you have another avenue of publication to share, but if you do wish them down i can due so.

you would be best to reply to me using the email address i have listed under bsdoblivion@d6holocron.com so that i get the message a lot faster (i suck at tracking the rancor pit).

now with that out of the way, on a side note i would like to ask another question about if you would be willing to do some original work for the Holocron and how much would you set the group back (cash that is). i have a few things that require original artwork to be done and i have never been good with color at all (all my work is B&W). or obviously if you can do the work as a donation that would be good too, but im smart enough not to hold my breath.

reply any time you wish, i will be here

Hello.
Thank you for your quick reply and your willingness to take action on this. I'm sorry we have made contact under such conditions.
I completely understand that yoursite has gotten large and I appreciate that it is difficult for you to monitoreverything. I also like the site and its base concept as a SWRPG d6resource...that said however, it is imperative that express permission for theuse of other peoples work should be obtained (where at all possible) BEFORE itis used, retro-active permission is not an acceptable position to be workingfrom. TORIS is not a difficult site to find (it also has its own thread onSWRPGnetwork) after all somone found it to raid its archives, so I can't seewhere the problem would be in contacting the creator or artists.
I think it needs to be clear toyour contributors, because I don't hold you specifically responsible here, whoare asked to search other sites for things to put on d6holocron, that they getthe permission BEFORE they re-publish others work. If I'd been asked before mywork was just appropriated, I probably would have been okay with its use aslong as credit was given. I also have no problem with anyone using the imagesin their own games, as long as they are not re-published online.
Unfortunately, at the moment Ifeel I can't give you permission to use the TORIS images without seeking theopinion of and agreement from the original site's owner as although they are myimages they are of his creations. I have sent him an email to get his take onthis matter, but I can't predict which way he'll decide. Until he replies I'mokay with the images remaining as they are, I will update you on any changesand will give a list of any and all work on d6holocron that the final decisionapplies to.
Again, I hope I'm not offendingyou with any of this, I do feel very strongly on this matter but rudeness oraggression is not my aim. If I have offended, it's not intentional and Iappologise.
On the matter of doing artspecifically for d6holocron; I am quite busy at the moment, but more work isobviously better than no work. I'm willing to listen to what you have in mindbut I can't definitely say what sort of price ranges would be involved, obviously colour work takes more time and effort than B&W as do large orcomplex images and these factors would be reflected in cost per piece...but,depending on what the images are, how quickly they are wanted and how much the ideastake my fancy, I may be persuaded to donate an original image or two withoutcost or at lower cost to a fellow D6er...no promises are being made on thisthough.
Be well.

Non-Canon Material

Hey, I was wondering if you had any preferences for whether things that are non-canon to Star Wars WEG material (fanon or conversion or simply alt-universe stuff) being tagged as such?

As someone who likes to have a neat and clean wiki, I personally like to know if what I'm looking at is from WEG or not.

i do want all posts to have the source material attached to them. and clearly its not always the case. But, Yes, please, enter in a section for the source of the material you are posting. if its a home brew, then just enter it that way. if you have a story line that it is attached to in a home brew game, then add that on too for show.

What about listing non-canon materials under the master headings for articles such as Starships and Equipment? Also, on an unrelated note I tried to update the Basic Character Template. Check my talk page and let me know what you think. :) --ABCoLD (talk) 00:28, 17 April 2016 (CDT)
To be more plain, I was personally pondering the merit of forking the wiki into two categories: official stuff and then a subsection that mirrored the original titled "Homebrew" with everything that everyone has come up with shifted under that. --ABCoLD (talk) 02:32, 17 April 2016 (CDT)

New Character Template Style

Sorry to bother, but did you get a chance to peek at that new template I whipped up on my talk page? If so, was it alright or would you prefer to stick with what is established? --ABCoLD (talk) 12:39, 21 April 2016 (CDT)
