Prologue

EP4 BTS 1894 R.jpg

Its been 10 standard years since Chancellor Palpatine became Galactic Emperor. Worlds all over have bent the knee to the new power structure for a much more secure galaxy. All in exchange for standard freedoms being sacrificed. Aboard the Corellian Corvette "The Space Cow" fringers from all over found refuge, work, and protection from their past misdeeds in this new government. Until the Empire caught up with them. 99% of the Space Cow crew had warrants for their arrest, and on a random search by BOSS they had been found. The crew is all now in custody of the Empire for crimes that span from Murder to j-walking. The Space Cow and all items aboard have been confiscated and lost.
The 1% aboard that did not have warrants for their arrest were released after 2 weeks of intense interrogation with almost nothing as well. Any armor or questionable weapons have been taken, money reduced to a measly 50 credits, and only 1 transport voucher each to the Imperial planet of their choice has been granted to them.
The remaining 12 members of the old crew now wait in the local watering hole, drinking their tears away, trying to figure out what they do next.
Where do they go
Who do they call
What choices to they have left
When will they ever catch a break
And how would they ever recover

Episode 1 - The Pitch
Our small band of outlaws, and I use the term outlaws loosely, found ourselves on Oovo IV. Yeah, great place! Talk about armpit of the galaxy! This prison moon is no vacation paradise. Since the Imps couldn’t get any dirt on a few of us, they had to cut us loose. The rest of the crew of the Corvette, The Space Cow, got shipped off for prisons unknown. Good luck to them! So the four of us sat in the local cantina, trying to figure out what our next move was going to be. Our paycheck was gone and we were left with a pass that guaranteed transport off of that rock, to another Imp controlled world where we’d probably be no better off. That’s it. No great things for us for being upstanding Imperial citizens.

Now enter the fake Bounty Hunter and the cringy business guy. So we’re sitting in the bar, nursing bad drinks, and paranoid about the Imps and anyone else that might still want to trump up some charges on us. The Bounty Hunter was a fake. Plain and simple. I’ve been around enough to know that there’s no way a BH walks around in gaudy armor and dreadlocks. Poor girl was going to end up as blaster fodder. And the business guy who turned out to be her boss was dressed in an outfit that I’m sure deviated away from who he truly was. Truth be known, the Imps would probably want to talk to him more than they did us.

Mr. Conrad turned out to be some owner of a shipping company out of Nar Shaddaa. I’m leery about the whole thing, still. Conrad came in, giving us this fake kreffing accent, wanting hire us. Turns out, he sounds like an average human fringer, not like what I’ve heard what Hapans are supposed to sound like, once he dropped the fake bantha poodoo voice acting. Conrad wanted to hire us for a simple job. He knew we were looking for work and he had a “spare” ship needing to be driven home. A brand new ship? Going to Nar Shaddaa? I’m still not keen on it, but hey, a paycheck is a paycheck. As long as I get off this awful dirt ball.

Episode 2 - "Level 42"
Hey sis. One more log for ya. I don’t know if you’ll ever get to see these holos, but if you do, you’ll have all the stories about what your big sister did after things went bom-bad.

Goodbye Oovo IV! I don’t think I could say that fast enough. Once Naw-Tor had the ship primed, I wanted off that hunk of rock as fast as he could fly. Oh, but we were good Imperial citizens and got our clearance and declared our flight plan. There was no way I was going to give the Imps a reason to keep us there. Off to Nar Shaddaa.

Ya know, Nar Shaddaa isn’t so bad. I mean, c’mon, there are worse places in the galaxy. Still, it’s a downgrade from home for me. Abregado-Rae is a vacation spot when you compare it to the Smuggler’s Moon. Hutt business thrives there. And anything involving the Hutts mean’s its plenty slimy. Like Hundo P slimy.

So my Twi’lek hottie, Draz, made herself scarce through the beginning of our journey to Nar Shaddaa. Meanwhile, Naw-Tor, who I think I’m going to start calling “Knot”, went all paranoid; wanting to know what was under all the deck plates on a sparkly new ship. I think I signed on with a bunch of crazies. Knot’s all paranoid and Draz comes back out, brandishing a metal cylinder like it’s a Lightsaber. I’d feel a whole lot better about my situation if Draz was a Jedi. Maybe there’d be a glimmer of hope in the cesspool of a galaxy I’m stuck in.

We got to Nar Shaddaa and docked up at this mondo tower called CC Beta. Remember the cringy Bounty Hunter? Well, she’s actually a full-on blaster babe. I mean, Siobhan is snatched when she’s not parading around in a dumb costume with fakey dreadlocks. She’s also a rep for Mr. Conrad Core, who’s gonna be our new boss. Core is giving us name rights to the Nova 3-Z ship, as long as we work for him. The condition is that Siobhan joins up with us as part of the crew. I won’t complain. I know, I know… Dad would want me to find some hot speeder jock. Well, what can I say? Twilek hottie? Blaster babe? I think you’ll understand my point of view. As long as I’ve got a cozy bunk, some fine tunes, and a steady paycheck, I’ll be just fine.

Episode 3 - The Sable Skies
The following transmission was recorded during an encounter. Apologies for any breaks or disturbances during playback.
Mr. Core,

You had asked for occasional updates from me on the missions you give to the Sable Skies. This will be automatically sent to you over my subspace com as I'm a bit pinned down at the moment and cannot hand deliver this to you.

As you know we got out of CC Beta without incident, but what you don't know is that many of the thrusters and engines were modified by Naw-Tor Malig in order to facilitate that launch. Apparently the weight of the cargo was sufficient to make these modifications necessary. Despite that, < blaster sound > our technician, Corha Vance, certified that the modifications were good enough to allow the ship to operate with more power, which we needed to get out of CC Beta and land at our destination.

While in flight I found Draz'iw Doneeta-Kuni was the Jedi you wished me to find in the group. On the flight out I found her in practice with her Lightsaber and she shared her story with us. Simply, she was the Padawan of the only Jawa Master, Vlovot Koca, and studied the < LOUD blaster shots > Jawa language from her as well. I declined to share my own Force status, instead giving them some of the details of my working for you.

Offload went well, and the modifications to the ship were undone so we didn't crash the ship. We had to unload half the cargo at the main spaceport and the other half at Dr. Reave's private landing pad. It was during this second offload that your message found us.

Draz'iw and I hopped on the Swoop I requisi < explosion > tioned from Stores and made a beeline to the hospital, the nearest location that had a transmitter we could use. (We should talk about possibly mounting one in the hold of the Skies to facilitate our communication.) We got spotted by one of the local police force, and were nearly pulled over and ticketed, but Draz'iw managed to convince them we were carrying lifesaving medicine and they decided to give us an escort instead.

< blaster bolt whine >

Your transmission came and I was able to capture the entire thing on my datapad. I wiped the memory of the transmission location, but I had a bad feeling that it didn't get everything out of the memory. I figured that it was good enough as I doubted an Imperial Slicer would be checking an outpost hospital for information you were sending. The rest of the offload happened, and we got off-planet easily to make our way toward The Wheel. While in transit we did a few things:

1. I practiced as I always do, and meditated. 2. I briefed the rest of the crew with the information you sent. 3. We made a plan of action to split up once we got the The Wheel to look for Resik Jinzler.

When we arrived, we hired a bodyguard to keep an eye < shouts and clattering > on the ship while we split up among the population of The Wheel. Draz'iw and I paired up and hit the Casinos and the bars, while Corha and Naw-Tor went to execute their planned collection of information. (I'm sorry I can't be more specific here, but they failed to share their plan with me and I didn't feel it was my position to press the issue.)

Draz'iw and I got some leads in the casinos, and we got a name for a gentleman who matched Master Resik's description, calling himself Lorn Tenil. I spent bribing cash to make sure that those who helped us out felt rewarded for their trouble, and you were right, being generous certaily did help the cooperation of the locals.

Finally we had a name and we went to the Security Office to get an address. There we found Corha and Naw-Tor in the office, and we tried pretending to not know each other. Unfortunately the deception was uncovered when I showed the picture to one < three rapid fire blaster shots > of the Security Officers, and they connected the two groups together as looking for the same person. I had to turn over a graft of 250 to pay the Security Personnel to look the other way while they gave me Master Resik's address in The Wheel. I stuck with my cover of being a bounty hunter and I have to admit that it was fun to do.

Finally we got to Master Resik's quarters, and despite the fact that I was calling him by his cover name, he didn't respond until I called him Resik Jinzler. At that point we had a number of hostiles with blaster rifles come around the corner and look as though they were going to start shooting.

I've updated this on the flight recording of Sable Skies through my Hush Comlink, in hopes there is some record left if worse comes to worst and we all die.

I'm submitting a voucher for ship's and mission expenses for 660 credits to this point. We also need to get two sets of Mandalorian Armor, one for my bounty hunter cover and one for Naw-Tor, more arms in the weapon's locker, and a case or two of grenades. Naw-Tor apparently wants more droids as well, and I'm hoping we can salvage the IG-88 that is facing us. As always the salvage from this fight will go into the ship's stores for use later or transfer to CC Beta.

Siobhan signing off.
