hello

what ya doing with the Argent Lady?

Thedemonapostle 04:00, 14 July 2011 (EDT)

notes

the Argent Lady seems to be a copy of Cargo Empress Super Freighter with a slight discrepancy in the scale.

Argent Lady(snipped)

Affiliation: Cosmohaul Shipping
Era: New Republic
Source: Star Wars Adventure Journal #9 (page 68 & 69), Feb, 1996

Game Notes: Pirates & Privateers cites this in it's starship index. As this was first i think it takes precedence over the one in Pirates & Privateers though personally, i can see Czerka and less respectable groups making cheap knockoffs and selling them for top credit.

Argent Lady, a stock Cargo Empress-class super freighter wasfirst. The one in Pirates & Privateers would seem to be the one in error. I recently purchased a copy of Star Wars Adventure Journal #9 (page 68 & 69), Feb, 1996. That's where I got the stats. It is cited at the back of Pirates & Privateers.

Pirates & Privateers is a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Timothy S. O'Brien and published by West End Games in 1997. The book provides information on piracy and privateering in the Star Wars galaxy, in the context of brief tales and anecdotes about the Rebel Alliance privateer Urias Xhaxin.

Argent Lady

even the wookieepedia listing, which you have referenced has it as an individual ship privately owned by a corporation and not the mass produced version. and as such im listing it under the Individual Ships section inside of the Starships section i removed the cost as well since its an individual ship. i also removed your game notes, as i believe that should be put under the discussion for the ship listed here: Talk:Argent Lady

ships

Battle Horn-class bulk cruiser seems to be a copy of Neutron Star-class bulk cruiser. looking up all the sources i have, i will present them all for your viewing.

Dark Force Rising Sourcebook (pg 136)

Bulk Cruisers
When a planetary government or star system conglomerate needs a capital-class warship to defend its space lanes, it often turns to the bulk cruiser. First introduced after the Clone Wars the cruiser was the premier warship of the Rendili Star Drive corporation, ideally suited to the budgets and needs of local governments and corporate manufacturing worlds.

During the galactic civil war, many of these vessels were appropriated by the Alliance and used against the Empire. The ships are currently used by the Republic to deliver badly needed protection.

The bulk cruiser has a number of flaws which were demonstrated during the galactic civil war. The warship is slow, moderately old, expensive to keep fueled, and subject to constant breakdown. The Alliance found that it was more cost efficient to convert the cruisers to starfighter launch platforms than to try to keep them battle ready. Those which have not been converted are used as transport escorts by the New Republic. A few have even been spotted in the Imperial fleet, which has made a habit of capturing warships and conscripting them into Imperial service.

seems to be a slight difference in the crew listing for each ship. granted they are different ships.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Neutron_Star-class_bulk_cruiser
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_Horn-class_bulk_cruiser

but even the cannon source says they're basically the same ship.

so, i am asking what you would like to do with Battle Horn-class bulk cruiser? would you like that i add it to the capital ships listing on the capital ships page? ive locked both pages until a decision is made, also, since the sources clearly are for 2 different ships, which source would you prefer go for which?

in my opinion we list them seperatey and referencing bth ships sources properly with a 3rd listing for the rebel modified one. with the rebel sorcebook as its only listing.

the Omze’s Incredible Traveling Starport is also another modified one...

update

  1. Battle Horn-class bulk cruiser
  2. Neutron Star-class bulk cruiser

i updated them, listed both under the capital ship section, listed each ones correct sources, listed the starfighter compliments for each ship and gave the description from wookieepedia for the Neutron Star-class bulk cruiser.

Speed Chart Draft 2.X.4

i put the main chart in a table for easier use. for the discrepancies parts, i believe that they should be best discussed under the discussion page, with a footnote on the bottom of the main page referring to the discussion for the various sourcebook's speed discrepancies. Class 1000 Cruiser

computer is in the shop right now. and its has all my books on it in .pdf format. i went to see if i had a physical copy. i don't. so i couldn't see if there was a discrepancy in scale. also it might have changed during the conversion from first edition to second. otherwise i wont be able to look at it in full until i get the computer back...

updates

i been around, just been busy with life. buying a house can be very time consuming. i try to keep up with the holocron. i try to correct errors when i see them, but generally the last bits of updates from me have been in the crossovers section.

also, for cleanliness sake, try to keep updates about what your doing off the individual article's talk page(s) and on your own talk page. that way people who want to see what your up to can look on your talk page and we keep the individual article discussion pages limited to that article's topic.

also, i been kinda more active on the rancorpit.com than here. trying to spread the word more that we have this huge database here to the hardcore D6 star wars groups.
